While the efficacy of psychoanalysis has been, justifiably in my view, called into question I think the approach adopted by this chap in the movie How To Lose a Wife and Find a Lover shows considerable therapeutic promise. In fact I'm convinced that a course of CMNF psychoanalysis sessions would do my mental well being a power of good.

There certainly have been plenty of odd religious rites down the years but this one, featured in the 1979 movie Wet and Rope, must surely be one of the oddest. Attending church was never like this when I was a kid.

In this clip he learns about the peculiar peccadilloes of Squire Bullsworthy, played by UK comedy legend Bob Todd, who enjoys nothing more than roaming the countryside in search of girls who he deems to be in need of bare bottom spankings. This is clearly a rural tradition which needs to be given protected status as part of our national heritage.
